Beixi Li

I am a collection of all my experiences, all the people I am privledged to meet, and all the memories that I am lucky enough to retain.

 

I am a mixture of thoughts, emotions, and wishes on what's happened, happening, and will happen. I tell myself I need to stop and think, look around and enjoy, but then the very next moment I'm already rushing off to the next appointment.

 

I am a College Junior who's seeing college fly by and living the warnings of those from before. College is the best time of our lives, and it's important to really value its potential.

 

I want to treasure the moment and store it away in my vault of memories, but then to not worry when I can't remember exactly how it happened.

 

I want to enjoy every moment without worrying about how it will end because then, in some ways, I'm not really there in the moment.

 

I want to look around me, see the beauty, feel grateful for the amazing people that I have with me, and understand that nothing is forever,  that people and relationships are not forever, but that no matter how it changes, it was good while it lasted.

 

As a Junior in College, this is my opportunity to explore a theme that has been running through my head for a while now. It seems that when I look around, everyone, everywhere, is rushing off to do something, all the time.

 

So much of our time is spent in transition, do we actually value the destinations? Hopefully, through these reflections, I'll be able to show you why I think this moment is so important. Hopefully, together we can really look around and appreciate, before we grab our bags for the next stop.
